Today I took Hamish to the vets about her teeth. I posted about her teeth curling not so long ago and has been living alone because the other two would not give her chance to eat. They got better but I wanted her checked over by the vet, anyway she has now lost one of her bottom teeth lord knows how. Shes eating fine and the side teeth are fine but I have got to keep a very close eye on the top ones in case one grows down into the space where one is missing. So she has got to live alone so I can keep a eye on her eating ect. She can go into the run with the other two though during the day. I got some sience recovery in just in case she needs it hopefully not.

When you say she has lost one, has she lost it for good or will it grow back? :)

Vet is hopes it will grow back it is a bottom one the vet was more worried about the top one growing down into the space of the bottom one. If it does it will be trimmed back keep your fingers crossed the bottom one starts growing for her. Hamish is only a year old and such a beautiful girl ( my son named her ;) ) He loves her to pieces we all do it would break our hearts if anything happens to her

couldnt you just have them together in the same cage permanently, and just seperate her for feeding times?

would seem like a better compromise to me... :-\

get better soon, hamish! (does her wheeking sound funny if shes lost a tooth? Like a human when they get braces? :P)

They do not like her :-\ she was in with Bumble and Hamish was a bully to her so I thought a boar would put her in her place and bring harmony instead Bumble and Rimmer decided to be horrid to her :'( all seemed well at first then problems started. Hamish is happy on her own. I will be putting them back together once she is 100% I need to be able to see her food intake when she was with the other two they would not let her near the bowl weather it was the veggies or the dried food even hay. They was constantly chasing her about. I put them together in the hutch just yesterday and it was awful. I have a few choices 1 put her back with Bumble and get Rimmer another sow 2 try and get them all to live in harmony 3 pair her with another piggie. I really want option 2 to work as this was my intention when I got Rimmer.

Tough one, I would go for number three though as what might happen is you get another guinea put them all together and then all three gang up on her. ? I hope her tooth grows back. Let us know what you are going to do out of the three choices. :)

It is very tough one Hamish is a fiesty girl although Bumble can hold her own with her. They are fine in the run during the day :) will wait and see she might just be one of those girls that likes her own company.

Might be, it's a shame and so horrible the other two have ganged up on her. :(

Awww best of luck for Hamish :smitten:
Toofie should grow back unless it's been damaged inside the gum. Great that she's eating really well tho :)

She seems happy and is popcorning eating crunchy things no problem. Just got to really keep checking her often. She goes out in the run with the other two and they are getting along fine in that. Just when I bring them into the hutch when the problems start.
