So I decided today to put the old rattie's hammock in the piggy cage because my youngest, Deliliah likes to jump (I think she might be part Kangaroo). Anyway, since we've had her, Errol has realised that because she can jump, he must be able to as well and is now doing the same. The problem is he is bigger and a bit more clumsy. He's also not as gutsy as she is and so I assumed he would steer well clear. Wrong! Today I go in to do their evening tidy-up and there he is sprawled across it all cute and cosy. My worry now however is that he will forget which end the shelf is, get out the wrong way, fall and injure himself. Should I take it out again? Or should I give him the benefit of the doubt?! (Btw, he's not as stupid as I'm probably making out, if he could read this he'd be mortified!)

Hey, How high is the hammock? When we had the indoor cage for the last ginnys there shelf was only high enough for them to get in under it and then had a ramp to get on top of it.
I would say as long as its only a couple of inchs up they should be fine as they arent as agile as ratties.

I wouldnt personally use one. But if you want to I would maybe lower it so its only just above the hay on the floor. Then if he fell out he would probs just stumble and not hurt himself.
