Does anyone know how to make hammocks for guinea-pigs? I'd like to have one for my boar who has moved from a hutch to an indoor cage so I can now get a hammock. He has a hut but it takes up quite a bit of room so I'd like to get him a hammock instead.

One of the last newbies to post in introductions said something about making hammocks, if I remember rightly.

Ok thank you, I'll go and have a look now. :)

The idea of a hamock sounds good, my boar is inside and his hut in his cage is bit big. I wonder if he'd like one. I've got plenty of fleecy and woolly material to make one. :))

I would just get a rectangle of fleece, hem it off then sew 2 ties to each corner, thread them through the bars and tie them off securely. Alternatively a triangle of fleece would work in a corner. The beauty about guinea pigs (or at least mine :(|):(|)) is they don't care about things looking perfect, for which I am eternally grateful as I'm not the best seamstress in the world :red

I got lazy and bought 2 off ebay! I was all set to make one, but then I told my Mum I'd like to get one and we had a look on ebay :) They were quite cheap 2, only about £8 for the 2 of them including postage. I don't really know how high to hang it off the side of the cage. Obviously not too high because I know guinea-pigs don't really climb, but I don't want it laying on the floor either. Maybe 2 or 3 squares up?
