hamster missing

hi i know this is a guinea forum just wondered if anyone could help i cleaned my hamster out last night and i did make sure the door was shut but he has escaped i cant find him anywhere just wondered if you could advice me on what to do please i have 3yr old and if he sees him he'll go mad espically if he gets in his bed but also there are no trails to say where he his thanks

Mine managed to get out years ago. I bought a live humane mouse trap and put choccy buttons in it. He was back with in 6 hours, they love chocolate. Hope it helps.

OK dont panic

Get a bucket place a trail of food by it and put some books like steps leading upto it with food on them hopefully he will find the food go up the steps and fall into the bucket put something soft inside so he dont hurt himself alternatively you could put his cage on the floor and maybe he will go into itself

Mine used to escape id wait in the kitchen with no light on and only the light showing from the living room guaranteed about 10.30ish he would pop out here id come with a jug and grab the little blighter !

Yes I use to do the same as you with the bucket, next moring the escapee would be safe and sound in the bucket !
