hamster wheels for piggies?

okay so this may seem really a silly question but ive noticed in pet shops larger hamster wheels are available for rabbits i was just wondering if piggies would use them or if any of you guys have them for your piggies, do piggies need alot of exerise? my little piggie doesnt wriggle or run around at all when i get her out of her cage she just likes to lay on my chest or lap and be fed veggies and squeak alot lol
 
No, piggies mustn't use those wheels, they are actually bad for them. I'm surprised that they are sold for rabbits, as I wouldn't have thought they were suitable.

thanks for letting me know, i saw the large wheels with the pictures of rabbits and other larger animals on them and got confused lol ive never heard or piggies or rabbits using them but wasnt sure when i saw these but i guess companys just try to make money how ever they can dont they rolleyes
 
I don't know about rabbits, but with guinea pigs those wheels are dangerous for their spines. But yes, I suppose manufacturers who are interested in their profits rather than the animals will carry on producing them. We just have to spread the word.
 
it is just like the harness that they sell for guinea pigs, they have the picture of a pig on them but they should never be used for pigs, companys are just out to make money

it sickens me. it really does, these things are so dangerous for piggies and probably rabbits too
 
Also the balls are dangerous too! I noticed at my local p@h they had crossed out the picture on the side of the piggie where it said what it was suitable for. I was very impressed with them for once. Saying that they still sell harnesses with pictures of piggies on though!
 
I really wouldn't think they would be suitable for rabbits either - I would think hamsters get away with it because they are so small.
 
I dont have one(and wouldnt particularly want one) but why are harnesses dangerous? x
 
They can seriously damage their spine when they run off and are snapped back by the leash.
