Hi Y’all Thanks for having me. By George! I’m glad I found you guys. I am currently Ka Blah Blah…Lost for words& experiencing uncomprehendable grief strickend anguish. Although I am not ready at this stage to explain the circumstances surrounding my beloved little creatures slow journey that ended his & my wonderful, exuberant time on earth together, I will however reluctantly admit it was all my ludicrous, absent mindedness that ended his time here I’m not sure how to live with myself after this misjudgement in error Any words of kindness & encouragement would be extremely appreciated. Hi there I am certain just by reading this post that you love Droolius Ceasar with all your heart and that whatever happened was a tragic accident and he knows how much you love him and that you would never hurt him intentionally

It is in our nature to blame ourselves I lost one of ours at only a few months old almost 2 years ago and still cry at times, go over the events of the day and blame myself.
Droolius Ceasar would not want you to feel this way but I understand that it is extremely difficult to just stop these emotions
When you are ready you could share some photos and stories about your boy if you want to or privately create a memory book for yourself it may help slightly

I am very sorry about your loss.

Strong feelings of guilt and soul searching are characteristic for the onset of the grieving process. They are in fact not an expression of you having done anything wrong but how deeply you love your pets or those in your responsibility - you wouldn't have these emotions if you didn't care. An unexpected loss or one under somewhat traumatising circumstances can make these feelings stronger - and as guinea pigs are small prey animals that can suppress symptoms until it is mostly too late or that can go into organ failure without warning it is not at all rare. As humans we are unfortunately wired to focus everything negatively back on ourselves.

Without knowing more about the circumstances, we can unfortunately not comment further.

Please take the time to read our Grieving guide link below. You will hopefully find that what you are going through is perfectly unpleasant but also perfectly normal. Any sudden loss is always hugely upsetting.
