I know this is a Guinea pig form but can anyone help here.

Our 10 month old Snowy has pyometra and she seems poorlier tonight, I've given her a wee drop of her water (with antibiotic in) from a syringe but her bum is very stained tonight and she is sleepier, I think I saw some pus but not sure as she was pooing at time. Can't get to vets until pm tomorrow does anyone know if I can do anything more to make her more comfortable until I can get her to the vets?

(This isn't my hamster it's from someone on another site not animal related got permission to copy and paste the post she had put up)

Yes I have asked to be updated on her condition so I well let you know. I don't like to see owners panicking where pets are involved.

Don't think her fone is on so I've texted her--OH is going to fone vet 1st thing to get appointment, she's sleeping in her nest right now--I have given her some more of her antibiotic solution through the syringe so at least she has had some of that and a little bit of fluid, thanx for your help
 
I had a hamster recently. SHe was 2 before the pyometra started. THis one seems quite young to get the condition.

My hamster got her antibiotics dropped onto a piece of grape as she was not a good water drinker and I could not her syringed it in as she was vicious and would have eaten my fingers. She ate it on the grape though.

Pyometra is nasty and the vet appt today will maybe up the antibiotic dosage accordingly. Ideally, she should have her womb removed to eliminate the problem, but it depends how the vet feels on operating on such a tiny creature.

Thanks for all your help last night. When I got in from work she was so cold I thought she had already gone but when I moved her I realised the poor might was just hanging on, I rushed her straight to the vets and they gave her oxygen but the infection was so bad it had just taken over and we had to let her go peacefully to Hammy heaven, MWe are devastated and I didn't realise how upset I would be. She was only 10 months old! She's at peace now though and thats what matters, once again thankyou so much for your help and caring.
