does anyone have a handheld Hoover they can recommend for poop a scooping?

I don't want to buy one to discover it's rubbish!

I have a really old one. After experimenting with a few I found that you need one that is 6.0 volts or less, otherwise it grabs hold of the fleece. Mine is a Black&Decker Dustbuster, but it is easily 10 years old now.

Ah, the one we used to have was a nightmare... always sucking the fleece up! Gave up in the end, thanks for the tip!

Thank you! I was just wanting to order one! Glad I saw this before I did!

Thanks for the useful information about the volts as I've been researching these for the c&c cage I'm plotting. Argos has a cheap one for £15.00 that is 6.0 volts, perfect

I don't hoover them as a rule as i have a dyson... but wud be interested in how the £15 one performs.. i wud like one just for the piggies...

Can you let us know how it goes!? it would make my life so much easier but not sure what the pigs would think of it, is it noisy? thanks xx

They are a little noisy but the piggies get used to it... I always use mine right before they get their morning and evening veggies.. They have figured this out so now when they hear the vacuum they start popcorning all over...:))

I'd be interested to hear feedback on this too. I'd been looking at ones with the highest volts to ensure it was strong enough to lift the hay and poos, just thought i'd probably kneel on/hold down the fleece/bottom layer of their floor time-play pen but might not be a great idea after all.

That's a great idea! Will give it a go, mine have got used to the room being hoovered so hopefully they'll get used to it! Thanks for the feedback x

I recently bought a HOOVER 6v hand held Hoover and it does my head in! It doesn't pick up the fleece but it is useless, the charge lasts 10 minutes and with 4 cages to do that's not enough really for me. The poops get picked up (just) but the hay tends to keep getting stuck in the nozzle and there is only a flap of plastic that is supposed to stop the poops coming back out but as soon as I turn it off they all come falling back out which is ironic really because it doesn't pick up hay so I have to brush as well lol Plus it's really loud and the piggies hate it so it's back to dustpan and brush for me :D
