Adult Guinea Pig
This week saw the 4th anniversary of when I picked up The Sheep....
Many of you may not know how I came to have them. They are not true 'rescues' as such but it was a mercy mission.... I found them in a local pet shop as a 'special offer Rex guinea pigs' and noticed one of them wasn't behaving normally. I was pretty sure he couldn't see and hear properly and wasn't eating normally. As I had seen the lethal piggies living at TEAS with @furryfriends (TEAS) I was pretty sure he was also affected. I got advice from plenty of rescue buddies and even went and spoke to the staff with loads of information and the offer of rescue spaces for the pair of them. To cut a long story short, despite talking to staff, the manager and the council, no-one was able to do anything and the shop refused to believe there was anything 'wrong' with him.... After a lot of soul searching and debating with my OH, I went back and bought them both. Normally I would never advocate this as it just gives a store space to bring in more piggies from goodness only knows where but I couldn't leave him to be bought by someone who had no idea about his problems and die a miserable death from untreated dental issues or worse......
My OH was furious with me for bringing them home without her agreement but now adores them. They are the most amazing characters and Mish has flourished despite needing regular dental work. He doesn't let his issues slow him down and can be a right horror when he wants! Angus is a huge menace and loves nothing more than causing chaos, life will never be the same the day he leaves us.

Here they are the day Mish (L) finally worked out how to copy Angus' (R) bar chewing.... It only took him 3.5 years!
