Happy 7th birthday, Heulwen!
My dinky, timid ray of 'Sunshine' arrived from Glynneath Guinea Pig Rescue in South Wales courtesy of a volunteer driver transporting other guinea pigs between rescues in January 2012 after she had successfully completed her pregnancy watch at the rescue. I'd fallen in love with her when I travelled to the rescue to pick up her baby sister Hedydd 'Skylark' as a playmate for baby Tegan to grow up with.
Heulwen joined the big Tribe and her slightly younger sister Hedydd a few months later when she was more confident in coping with a larger group.
While the two sisters initially had a bit of a rivalry for dominance going, they have been very close for most of the intervening years and love to snuggle up with each other for a nap.
Heulwen is celebrating her birthday in style with some of the very last fresh green grass from the garden.
