Three years ago to the day, Llewelyn won the boar dating race at the rescue paws down, as far as my three year old bereft lady Dizzy was concerned... and she was not at all minded to share her delightful swain with me! The rescue reconned that he was about a year old, so this day has to do as his birthday as well.
Poor little Llewelyn was very apprehensive, lived mainly in hiding and took several weeks to get the hang of his new (safe) indoors roaming life after the "Wild West" of the chicken, rabbit and guinea pig filled pen he had been rescued from. His survival instincts were keen to a degree I have never encountered before or since and it has taken over a year to work past them. He's never got rid of his habit of running away with a choice morsel in his mouth to eat in "safety", though!
Dizzy and me trying to entice a very young and much smaller Llewelyn out of the cage
First steps...
Wheeky wheekday to you, Llewi-boy!
