My gorgeous, but very shy lady Tanni has celebrated her fifth adoption with me this week!
She was dumped at a short-lived local rescue just before Christmas 2010 together with a job lot of severely neglected boars. Thankfully, the hobby breeder of the worst sort could not be bothered with her after just a week of buying her because handling Tanni was like trying to get and keep hold of quicksilver!
Tanni has got her name (which means "Little Fire" in Welsh) as much from that as from her stunning looks. She's never come round to more than tolerating handling and any necessary grooming, but she has had an otherwise happy life with her piggy family.
Sadly, in October, what we thought was a large ovarian cyst turned out to be an internal lump, which an experienced vet did not think would be worth the in her case too high risk of a rather complicated and messy operation, so she is just going to live out her life the way she likes best. I've been keeping my fingers crossed that she would live to celebrate her landmark day.
