Sadly I got my girls from the dreaded pet shop that we all hate, before I knew any better. I wont step foot in there now and do my best to promote how terrible they are. Anyhow because of this I am not sure of Mabel and Dottie's exact birthday but I got them on the 24th of December so it would have roughly been their birthdays this month!

Happy birthday beautiful girls!

They have both totally stolen my heart over this past year and I have of course grown from two to three piggies in this time! I am so pleased I have been able to learn so much about these wonderful animals and I do my best to raise the profile of piggies when I can! Here's to many happy years together girls :)

I don't think it matters where they came from, if you fall in love it can't be helped :)

I know but I didn't know about rescues then or this forum, and I certainly wouldn't have even been in that shop if I had known what I know now! I would always go for rescue now for any future animals I may have over the years!

I think we all would like to do that but sometimes karma intervenes, clearly Dottie & Mabel were meant to find you & look what you would have missed :)

:)) very true! I do sometimes think about how different their situation may have been if someone else had them :... they could have had just a good life I guess but it's more than likely they may have had a horrid life couped up in a tiny cage.

My heart did melt when I saw Mabels little head poke out from some fiddlesticks, I couldn't believe how lucky I was to get her, I thought she was the prettiest little piggy I had ever seen! Dottie gave the man in the shop a good run for his money, he couldn't catch her for what felt like a very long time!
 
Piggy kisses to Dottie and Mabel. I feel exactly like you do about mine ( Fudge and Couscous) they came from P@H last summer, I was only in there buying dog food!
I have to go in there from time to time to buy fish and other tropical supplies for my aquarium though. :)p:)):))

Thanks everyone! They both had special birthday cuddles and will be thoroughly spoilt on their gotcha day next month :)

I really hope I have my camera back soon as I might do something special for their birthday and take some pigtures for memories :))
