A year ago Odi moved in.
At first, he had a really rough start with my girls and the first introduction failed in a big way. I think Odi was a bit overwhelmed because my girls (especially Billie) were much bigger than he is. They also had a funny hairdo in his eyes because the girls he knew before coming to us were smooth haired. Unfortunately, Odi is one of those rare piggies who react pretty aggressive when feeling threatened.
So the girls wanted to say hello, he was scared, didn't react in a polite way ... and the girls weren't impressed. Billie and Tessy even started to fight with each other.
Fortunately, the second try went much better. It did take Tessy and Odi a while to really bond, but Billie and Odi decided on a truce. Bonny was only 6 months old at the time and was a big fan of Odi nearly from the very start. She coped better than Billie and Tessy with his endless energy and his constant rumblestrutting that was only one step away from an aggressive encounter.

Odi wasn't used to being handled at all when he moved in. At first, I was always in danger of loosing a finger when handfeeding him. He also had to learn not to react too aggressively when being held. So we had to go quite a long way. But we have made a lot of progress.
Today he is still not amused when being held. But he doesn't panic anymore and he has learned to trust me.
He has also put on quite a bit of weight and seems to have grown. But maybe he just looks bigger because he isn't so skinny anymore. He was already 2.5 years old when I got him - wouldn't think that a piggy still grows at that age. But he always had quite a big personality.

Even though Odi didn't have the best start with the girls I still had the feeling that he was sort of feeling at home right from the start.
I hope that he is happy living with us.
And I hope that Billie and Tessy are happy living with Odi. Bonny and Vicky certainly are.
