Today (03/07/24) marks 5 years since the lovely (and sometimes stinky) Rupert came to live with us from Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre!
I'll always remember seeing his photo on their site and thinking "uh oh, better tell my boyfriend we're getting a husboar for the girls", my boyfriend agreed that I could visit him but with no promises or guarantees (a big mistake let's be honest) and I fell absolutely in love with this fluff ball who came out of his hide to see who was disturbing his beauty sleep. Rupert couldn't come home straight away as he had a post neuter complication but finally on the 3rd of July 2019 we collected him, and our lives have been all the richer for it.
I made him a "cake" to celebrate and we popped a little party hat on his head for a quick picture, fortunately he's always been a tolerant little lad, even letting me clip his nails with no fuss.
