Hi All,

Well today is Cuzzy's memorial day! For those that don't know we got Cuzzy from pets at home on July 25th 2007 to go with Sunshine and Twinkle. This was of course before I knew any better and thought three boys would be fine. Cuzzy lived in our Lavander Lodge with the boys but after two days I discovered he had mites, I took him to the vets and seperated him. Sadly Cuzzy never went back with the boys as he became dominant in the space of two weeks. I suspect Sunshine was bullying him.

So Cuzzy became a house pig and he loved it, was always zooming around his cage and popcorning crazily! In late October he was off his food and I couldn't tempt him with anything at all so I took him the vets who said they didn't know what was wrong, he sort of had signs of a URI but didn't. It makes no sense, but we gave him antibiotics and he was on critical care. The following day he had head tilt so I took him back to the vets and he had an injection for pain. The vet looked in his ears and although their was outward signs of an ear infection inside the ear was clear, so it looks like he had some kind of genetic problem with his brain.

I nursed him for 3 weeks and even got him a friend in Eccles as Cuzzy didn't seem ill by this point but just depressed, sitting in the corner of his cage away from us. On the Thursday before he died he took a turn for the worse and was very unsteady on his feet. I made an appointment for the vet but Cuzzy never made it and by the time Friday morning came he was running over to the bridge.

Although he was only hear for four months he made a big impression on us. It took us a long time to get over losing Cuzzy but we are grateful now that he is no longer suffering and is at peace.

Here are some photos of him, starting with him as a baby. :)
