Happy Piggy?

Hi all!

Proud father of two boys. I’m new to owning piggies and wondering if what we’re experiencing in the link is a happy noise!

Biscuit (the piggy making the noise) was out on the couch with my husband and his cagemate Teacake. He wasn’t frozen (as you can see in the video!) and had just eaten a little piece of celery. Both he and Teacake make this noise (but never at the same time) when having couch time.

Any opinions are very much appreciated!

Hi!

They are a tiny bit apprehensive with the high chatter. The rumbling sound is combined with shifting the weight from one back leg to the other; when they do this while moving around. This is called rumble-strutting. It is mild dominance behaviour that you see in both genders but more specifically in boars.

Here is a nice example of my neutered boar Dylan having a few 'manly' moments with his new wifelet Begw:
