Well we hadnt checked piggy weights in a while over Christmas and with mum being in hospital so we had a piggy weigh-in and health check this morning. I'm very pleased!

Clover and Piggle weigh the same as a month ago, so baytril for the UTI hasnt affected Piggle's weight at all.

Chunky husboar Theo now weighs in at 1120g- little chubster! 30g heavier than a month ago.

The great news is that skinny little Puggle weighs 885g- 60g gained in a month! Jezzy who dropped to under a kilo after baytril now weighs her usual 1070g- 80g regained in a month! And tiny little Blodwen who was 790g just after her dental op now weighs... 920g! 130g weight gain in a month for missy sassy lilac pants :) so happy, she's constantly munching hay hay and more hay.

A bit of porridge oats does work wonders for weight gain :)

Only thing I'm less happy with is noticing that all 6 piggies need a nail trim... booked in with the vet nurse next thursday and friday because I daren't try take all 6 at once!

Good to hear they're all fighting fit! My two saw the vet nurse on Monday for nail trims... The previous nurse we saw was brilliant; held the pig under one arm and used her free hand for the trimming, this nurse a bit less brilliant.. I had to hold them (so I did not escape piggie blame) whilst she did the trimming and between us we got in a 's muddle. And she gave me a mild telling off that Primrose is getting overweight, when she's IMO a comfortable just over 1kg. All nails got trimmed eventually, but Primrose was so outraged by it all she hid upstairs in their loft for the rest of the day, doing her best Greta Garbo impression ("I want to be alone...") She recovered by tea time though!

My main worry for the nail trims is which combinations of 3 piggies will sit in a 4 square foot transport box together for an hour without all hell breaking loose... they are quite used to their 26 square foot cage thank you very much and value their personal space! Fortunately the vets is only a mile away but box sharing isnt something my lot are keen on...
