Hard patch on foot

Hi my guinea pig has a hard patch on his foot and I did read somewhere that you can just clip it off but I'm not sure that is alright for me to do(I don't think it is) and I don't know whether that was true so I will try and take a picture

Please see a vet or a competent piggy savvy vet nurse over it. Unless they are at risk of catching and getting ripped off, it is advisable to just ignore foot spurs.

Do not cut on spec. If you cut into still live skin you can seriously hurt and cripple a piggy!
 
Is it a foot spur? Some of my pigs have developed those and others have not... we just left them alone, as they didn't bother the piggie and I didn't want to risk a foot cut on a squirmy, unhappy pig.
