hi! i recently had my guinea pig snoop at the vet due to no guy movement. he responded well to the meds and not only was his gut moving again, but his stomach wasn’t hard. i went to health check my pigs today, and noticed snoop is looking somewhat bigger with again, a hard stomach. i can hear his guy moving, but I'm not sure what to do. i kept him off veg while he was recovering as thats what i was told to do. I'm not sure how to move ahead. I'm still giving him meds and critical care as i was given more than needed, is there anything else i can do to help him?

unfortunately I'm not sure as the label has pealed off the bottle, it was to help his gut moving again from what i can remember. I'm planning on taking him to the vet as soon as i can, i just wanted to see if theres anything i can do in the meantime to make him as comfortable as possible.

Hi

Vibrate him and have him seen as soon as possible. Continue with the gut stimulant.

Here is our gut problems care guide link with all the details (including different ways you for what you can use for vibration) and practical tips: Digestive Disorders: Not Eating - Diarrhea - Bloat - GI Stasis (No Gut Movement)

All the best.

Think I read a tummy massage with an electric toothbrush but please check with experts and go back to the vets 💐

We have a baby colic mat that gently vibrates for when we have gut emergency- might be worth looking into. Hope he feels better soon

i’ve got an appointment for next week as sadly i can’t get him in any sooner, i can hear gut movement when i put his stomach to my ear and luckily he’s eating and going to the toilet as usual. i’ll keep veggies away until he’s seen by the vet as well, thank you!
