My partner found this on fudges back whilst giving her cuddles.. Anyone know what it is? Its hard, isnt filled with fluid and only feels as though its on the surface of her skin- when pinched, theres no lumps underneath her skin.

Thats a strange one , is there any tenderness ?
Could be a melanoma

Doesnt seem painful when I'm touching it. She has bigger problems at the moment and this lump is the least of her worries but i am curious.

I'm really not sure but I think you will be best to get a vet appointment to confirm and diagnose what it is x

If it is a melanoma , they grow very slowly , but if you are woried you could ask your vet to eather freazz it or sugicaly remove it

Even if it is the least of her worries you will still be better going to the vet just incase it could be connected x

She is attending the specialist in the morning for her heart, i plan to mention it then but I'm not going to stress her heart with another car journey today to have this looked at. I'm being sensible and weighing up the risks. One journey too many and she could go in to respiratory distress, again. I just though id ask as theres so many knowledgable folk on here. Thanks for the replies.

Oh Adelle I'm sorry to read that she is so poorly. I wish her every good fortune. I do read about piggies leading normal lives on the correct heart meds, so I have my fingers firmly crossed for your little one.
Please discuss diuretics if you already haven't. Your vet will probably mention them anyhow if not, but if not, it's worth bringing the subject up, as they may or may not be appropriate for your piggy, and can make a huge difference.
I thought I'd mention it now in the hope that it is helpful before you go and see the vet, rather than retrospectively after you come back, being as repeated journies are something you wish to avoid.
@Wiebke @helen105281 to see if they can give tips before you leave.
I also recommend putting some cucumber in with her, to avoid the stress of dehydration.

Please accept my apologies if you have already thought of/discussed these pointers x

Could even be a cyst, best to get it checked but it can wait until you see the specialist. If she is a suspected heart pig (I need to catch up on your other thread) it would be a good idea to ask the vet for some diuretic to take with you on car journeys.

Thank you both- she currently has lasix oral solution (frusemide). Shes actually requiring it less frequently since her first dose subcutaneous last wednesday night. The recommended dose is 2-5mg every 8 hours but as fudge is also queried renal disease, i am using them with caution and thankfully she hasnt needed them anymore frequently than 12 hours. She has a bowl of watery veg an hour after every dose and has cucumber throughout the day. They are helping her massively- the other day her breathing was terrible, 3 hours later she popcorned. I was doubtful she'd hang on until tomorrow but so far shes done amazingly well, shes definately a fighter.

That's really good news. I recommend Dioralyte too when pigs are on diuretics, it helps keep them hydrated and keeps the potassium levels stable.

My Eliza had something that looked very similar to that. My vet wasn't concerned and we just monitored it. She had it for 5 years and it never changed or caused her discomfort.

Best to get it checked out though just to make sure.

Good luck for tomorrow xx

I had two elderly yorkies that both had several of these on their skin and they were just warts, but wasnt sure if something different on a guinea looked like this. I'm not overly concerned, its clean and dry and doesnt look infected. Shes only ever had one injection in the 3 years iv had her and it was only last week but it wasnt in that area so dont think its an injection site reaction. Thanks for your reply x

Looks very similar in size/shape/ consistency doesnt it? Fudges is paler but concidering she has poor circulation at the moment, that isnt suprising. Thank you very much for attaching that, its helped alot :)
