My little Harley pig is going under GA tomorrow to have his front teeth filed. They tried to do them conscious last Saturday but he wouldn't have any of it. So he has to be put under tomorrow to have them trimmed. It has been a while since I had a pig under anaesthetic so I am a little worried. He has to stay at the vets for a few hours to monitor him. Sending him off with a packed lunch tomorrow morning.

Wish us luck xxIMG_1635.webp

Wishing you both all the best! My girl Meryn is also in tomorrow for a dental, so I can guess how you're feeling. We can be worry buddies!

All the best!

Why does he need to have his incisors trimmed? Has your vet checked the back teeth, too?

Here are our post-op tips. Please make sure that you have got syringe feed etc. at the ready so you can step in if necessary.

Wishing him all the luck in the world Hannah, huge hugs!

Harley was a star apparently. He was good as gold and the vets loved him. He was spoiled I think. He woke up really well from his incisors trim, they said he came too really fast. He was kept warm and given some veg afterwards and he ate well.

Got him home and he was rumbling straight away at Sherman. Seems to be having trouble picking certain food up but I think he is just getting used to his shorter teeth. Will keep an eye on him and feed him extra if needed.
The vet did check his back teeth while he was under and they are perfect apparently.
