Adult Guinea Pig
A few weeks ago I posted a thread about Quinn who had sadly passed away leaving her sister Harley alone and unable to have a new cage friend as she's an old lady and introductions can be very stressful for old rats that are very territorial.
Since Quinn passed, Harley has been very quiet and not wanting to come out of her cage. We put it down to mourning and just gave her lots of attention on her own terms through the bars.
Each morning I sit by her cage and leave the door open to try and get her to come out and have a cuddle.
Today was finally that day!
She ventured out for an explore and cuddles happily. I even got a few happy teeth chatters from her! So so happy that she's finally felt confident enough to come out without her sister leading the way! Now she's back in her cage and running around like she's a pup!
I know that she still misses Quinn as we all do, but feel a lot better knowing that I can give her a comfortable and happy life for the time she has left.
