Hi I was just wondwring if anyone had used harringtons optimum before and what they think of it health wise?
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks.

Our trio love Harringtons. Cookie and Treacle came with it from Walsall RSCPA and we never switched. I am very happy with it as a food.

My girls love harringtons. When we had Rosie she had been on wagg guinea pig museli for about 5 years, we switched over and she adored it. I do use burgess as well for a bit of variety, but I think they prefer Harringtons.

Can someone tell me if harringtons is any better than the others ive tried p@h, burgess excel & science selective but I don't really understand the ingredients in them so I do not know which is better for them. It seems too good to be true as only £3.48 for 2kg?

My lot do like harringtons but I also feed them burgess and science selective, they must expensive taste as they go berserk for SS but only mild excitement for the others!

I'm not that hot on the nutritional value of them, but many others feed harringtons and have no problems. I know there is preference when it comes to calcium content because of piggies who have bladder problems :)

Haha they definitely are.
Theyre not so fussy with their veg though. the only things I've found they don't like so much are pear and yellow peppers lol.

To be honest I don't think which type of pellets you give them matter. We use the harringtons as said above because it was what they were already on when they came to us. But as to which is best health wise I feel that as pellets should only make up a small portion of their diet then the type really isn't important. Some people don't feed any dry food just hay and veg.

That said I wouldn't go for a muesli because of the selective feeding.

I can believe they have preference of colour lol! mine are neglected more often than not only get green ones as they are the ones I refuse to eat as I hate them lol. they get the odd piece of other colours when I am cooking though

Yeah that's what I think too.
I was gonna put them on burgess but I always think that as ling as theyre having a good diet of veg and hay it doesn't matter too much. Especially with 21 guinea pigs to feed.

Thanks I will try not to worry then. I currently have all four types in my house as different pigs were on ,different types when they arrived. I am trying to pick best one and then move them all onto same gradually as it is like a café at the moment lol

As long as its not museli I wouldnt worry much.
I don't really like using PAH brand but I think that's just cause if how much I hate the place haha. .

Yes I am boycotting them but mostly because I get tempted by adoption centre! That my main reason for changing as 3 of my 7 are on p@h nuggets

it's 0.8% calcium and 0.6% phosphorus but don't know if this is good or bad or whether the others are even any better?
0.8 is too high for a pig with bladder issues but ok for others. From my understanding of what people have said.
