Crazy day today! :))

Harry the hairy one decided to make a break for freedom - the speedy little beggar!

He was startled by a wagon delivering a skip to a neighbour down the road, and managed to squeeze through a tight gap in the outdoor run :{ not sure how but he did!

rolleyes

I then spent two hours, with neighbours and himself, trying to coax Harry out of the dense, ivy & bramble clad hawthorn hedge! Stubborn to the last, Harry kept speeding out of reach. So we retreated and left a piece of cucumber in a box to entice him out. grrrr
2hrs later I had an idea - grab the play tube and pop some hay from the hutch at the end.
;) It Worked! Harry could smell 'Home' and edged toward the tube and I pounced, grabbed the tube and popped him in the hutch! YAY!

Scary though. Ive ordered a lovely new run for them today, as my faith in the other has gone!

Wow, thank goodness that must've been awful! Sweet that he smelt home tho ;) bless him. He'll sleep well tonight!

He will, he led us a merry dance.

He probably gorged himself on finds in the hedgerow, like a buffet probably.

I was terrified though, thought id never see him again. Damn but he didnt half shift - I cant move very fast due to my arthritic bod - he ran while I flapped on the lawn belly down!

wow glad that was a happy ending. Years ago one of my neighbours now deceased piggies escaped! We spent ages looking round the garden. Her husband decided to look down the side entry and out into the front garden. The kids had cleaned the piggies out and luckily left the dirty shavings in a carrier bag near the wheelie bin. Little piggie was sitting next to the shavings, thinking "I can smell home!"rolleyes
