Harvey and Artie were both, are are regulaly treated with Johnsons Insecticidal Shampoo, they are bathed every three months with this shampoo and were bathed three weeks ago.

However on thursday last week and now today I'm worried! I noticed Harveys skin is dry and a little 'flakey' (when you brush under his hair a tiny amount of 'dandruff flakes' falls off) Harveys skin underneath isnt red or sore, its just his normal pale colour. He's not itching, nor does he have any wounds/sores/scabs/nor is his hair falling out.

Arties skin is fine, soft no flakeyness no problems, both boys eyes/ears/butts/feet and mouths are all okay its just Harveys skin is a wee dry.

The boys are kept on vetbed, they are fed PAH hay and excel nuggets and washed veggies, both boys weights are the same as last month so no changes there. I've checked through the hay too and theres nothing crawling!

It seems to me like dry skin but ive never experienced piggies with dry skin before could the warm weather be making his skin dry?

Do you think i should buy some soothing cream for dry skin from Gorgeous Guineas? :)

Ask a vet or buy some cream for him it might be useful

I emailed the lady at gorgeous guineas for advice and she recommended me the right lotion etc for the problem do the same, she is very helpful:))

have you used ivermec on them lately? could be the first signs of mites!

you could try a little Aloe vera on the dry bit of skin which can be brought via GG website or even try a conditioning shampoo, you could also try rubbing a little olive oil in to the skin which can be brought from chemists if they have been treated with ivermec lately x

Yerp they've been treated with Ivermec on the 22nd of April. Thats why I'm a tad confused they were also bathed with Johnsons insecticidal shampoo on the 1st of April.

Thank you, i'll try some Olive Oil on the patch of dry skin, and have a browse of GG.

Paws crossed for darling Harvey that he's NOT got mites grrrrrrr

and some wheeeeeeky loves too xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Awwwwww thank you Wheeky! He shouldnt have mites or fleas or ticks or any buggies, i think it is the hot weather going to cut another hole in the shed for more cool air to blow through haha! :)

Thank you for the vibes! :rose
