Had a trip to the vets today with both Harvey and Rio. Rio has a very minor respiratory infection, standard baytril treatment. But Harvey had a bit of hard food, either some tough foliage in his hay or a bit of corn cob skewered over his two bottom teeth. The vets had to cut it off using the same tool they use to trim overgrown teeth, and given him shots of painkillers and antibiotics. But my poor boy is still quite sore I imagine and hasn't had anything to drink all day. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to tempt him to drink, I've put a bowl of water in as well as the water bottle and tried giving him watery veg but he wont eat any veg either (luckily he's still eating hay and grain). I will syringe feed him water if I have to but I'm worried I'll hurt his mouth even more if I syringe feed him.

When Toast wasn't drinking due to dental issues someone on here suggested watermelon as it's mostly water and it worked well, try offering that? If not definitely syringe water.. try adding pro biotic with a nice taste too

Watermelon is a great idea, I'll go out in a bit and see if I can get some. I'll probably get some cucumber too as that is very watery and one of Harvey's favourites. I do weigh him regularly and he hasn't lost any weight yet but I'll weigh him daily until he's back to normal.
