So i'm feeling devastated after losing my 2 guinea pigs Amber & Topaz recently. My OH goes out for the day with my mother-in-law. Returns this afternoon. It's our anniversary tomorrow and I get handed a vet box filled with hay and hear the patter of tiny paws inside. Meet 63day old sisters Fern & Heather - the most beautiful anniversary flowers I have ever received!2016-10-28 17.22.23.webp

Oh my goodness that is amazing, you are ssssooooo lucky!
Pig-napping kit coming out!:bal:

They're beautiful. I love Pews. Are you planning on bonding them with your other girls once they are settled and quarantined?

Nice flowers! A few cautionary warnings:

- These flowers are unusual in that they don't need to be in a vase. Handy, as you don't need to buy a vase now!
- The petals aren't edible
- The smell may not be as fragrant as roses, especially from the stalk end
- Don't be alarmed, but your flowers will make noises. These will more often than not be coordinated around watering time (which is a sneaky misnomer as it's more than just water!)

However, your flowers should flourish into gorgeous blooms, alternating with being blooming cheeky nuisances :luv:

Flowers are seriously overrated. Piggies, however, are not :lol!:
I love your alternative bouquet. The long lasting variety.

Tiny, i stole the name Fern from your thread about names - glad you didn't need it ;) And Helen i don't usually quarantine my guinea pigs as most come from a rescue and aren't put up for adoption until they are known to be healthy, and those that haven't come from there (like these 2) have a quick vet check before they come home. I've already put Fern & Heather in with Poppy & Rowan. Poppy wasn't sure what to make of them at first, she looked a bit afraid of them. Then she realised they eat HER food and have chased them around a bit, but with no aggression. Rowan looked very happy to meet them and has been washing them and even licked Ferns ear! Fern is the cream coloured 1 with dark eyes (on the left) and Heather is the pink eyed white (on the right). Love them all so much! :luv:

@3Tyger I remember you saying you liked the 'nature vibe' names :D

They go really well with your current names. Sounds like they're settling in nicely!
