Has anyone been to see “Keeper of the Pigs” at your local cinema?

That's a shame.I pay for the 4.99 a month one with adverts but you really don't get many.
I will have to look, you’ve given me an idea, maybe I can do a month & cancel it…. Or I may have to persuade a friend!

Unfortunately you can't use anyone else's account anymore, netflix is very strict now but yes there's always the option to cancel their basic plan.I got hacked a few months back and with one extra user the price went from 4.99 to 21.99.

Watched it!
I actually found the Peru section easier to watch than seeing how the breeders kept them. One person was using plastic storage boxes that were maybe a meter long, each had several piggies in. These are the ones in the countries with welfare standards (UK and France) so personally I found that much more distasteful. I think I saw one of the people who have show pigs pluck an untidy whisker too.😢

I’ve been watching it this evening but I’ve stopped at the point where they go to Peru, it’s certainly a difficult watch, I really would like some of these pet shop bosses who insist on selling pigs to give it a watch and think long and hard to themselves of what they are doing is right.

Finally paid some money to Netflix & watched The keeper of the pigs.
We both struggled watching, especially the show pigs & the breeding associated with it.

Our rescue boys Wally & Loki shared a few wheeks of opinion too.

Please support rescues.

I cannot bring myself to watch this film .
I have witnessed the aftermath of show pig breeding and seen the set ups so I would have no desire to ever acquire a purebred or perfect pedigree pig. Bearing in mind that the conditions shown were probably not the worst (as they knew they were being held up for scrutiny) please keep in mind the fate of many other pigs kept in isolation in breeder blocks or in trays who may then be discarded as not meeting the full breed requirements and end up God knows where. And yes, there are some rescues who are really just the repository for these breeder castoffs.

That breeder bit is the only part of the film I have seen, it was exposed on you tube. I felt really upset by the way those piggies were kept. The most shocking thing though was that he didn't know any better and thought he was keeping them well. I know a family who breed show piggies and they are kept in lovely big airy pens in a well insulated shed. Those piggies that aren't shown are kept as pets or rehomed to trusted family and friends. Not all show breeders are the same and the Cavy Club should have rules on how animals are kept. Saying that I don't like the idea of breeding and showing anyway.
