Hello everyone,

Has anyone come across the bowls made of parsley with the dried carrot or apple on top? They look interesting but i read somewhere that parsley is not so good for piggies everyday also i would be concerned about what they are using to keep all that parsley together as it appears quite firmly packed.

Do you mean something like this ?

Salad Bowl :: Rosewood Pet

We don't recommend this type of small pet treat as they invariably contain some sort of sugar - or seeds - or something else not ideal ..

I know exactly the sort of thing you mean, but can't seem to find an expamle to link to online.
We buy them in the local pet shop.

y 4 get a parsley bowl about once every 6 weeks.
They love them and the whole thing only lasts a couple of days.
I do limit how often I feed them because of the potential calcium issues, but I haven't actually been able to find out much about the calcium content of dried parsley.

Obviously you should carefully check the ingredients first, but it is quite easy to get things that are sugar and seed free as well as grainless too (if that's an issue).
JR Farm are one make that springs to mind, but I am sure there are others too.

This is the one. Website says it has Parsley, vegetable by product and dried apple or carrot. I think i might just stick with fresh parsley for them occasionally, they love parsley.

That's exactly what mine get and they love them.
But only as an occasional treat.
I get one filled with dried dandelions, so I would probably remove the dried apple pieces before feeding them in case one gets stuck on a tooth.
But other than that I would say let them have it - I bet they love it.

Lol maybe i'll get them one for xmas and swap the apple for pellets to try and entice them to eat some.
