has anyone heard of broken back?

My Maurice pig used to get this, well I think it was this. He would develop a sore area on the middle of his back. No mites, no other sores, other guineas not affected. It didn't seem to itch when you touched it. I diagnosed it from my guinea piglopaedia. I used to put a very light covering of Sudocreme on it and it would heal within days. He only had it about three times.

I have never come across anyone else having a pig with it
 
That rings a vague bell. Have you tried searching for it on the forum? I'm sure I remember reading a post about it although some time ago. I'll see what I can find.
 
I've had 2 rescue pigs in with it. I treated like fungal and it cleared up.
