Adult Guinea Pig
@biscandmatt I have found Molly varga! She is at Rutland house vet hospital in St Helens. I'm torn between her now (40 min drive) and Ashleigh vets
Molly Varga is excellent. She has her own website now. Cheshire Pet have a new exotics vet and she seems very good too (most of mine have seen her already!).
Wow she does sound good. I've got them booked in for their pre op on 7th march then they will be neutered on the 10th. Still terrified regardless of how good Molly is though. They have just turned two. I have heard people say under 2 is best, so are mine classed as more risky?
@biscandmatt I'm not excited for the op but so excited for them to finally have a cage mate. I don't know if you read any of my other (countless) posts but 2 years ago I made the mistake of buying ONE baby guinea pig from a pet shop.. I wouldn't buy from a pet shop again and obviously would never get just one. I didn't know much about guinea pigs which was my second mistake and I stupidly only did my research after I got my first pig. I found out they were to live in pairs so rushed out and got another guinea pig. I introduced them and although I did do some research on the correct ways to do this, I got overly paranoid and kept separating them unnecessarily so they have lived side by side since. Obviously I've learnt from my mistakes. At first I wanted them paired through a rescue with two more boars as I was scared about neutering but I know there's a higher risk of fallouts in the future and I don't have the space for more separate cages so after changing my mind a million times I think I've made my final decision to neuter them and let my boys choose a wife through a rescue
Oh and also I'm having my 7 month old puppy neutered and surgery on his hernia the day after the guniea pigs neutering
