My little boy Clyde is 4 + years old now. He has always been more nervous than the 3 girls that he lives with. If I walked into the pig-room and caught him at the hay-rack, he would immediately run and hide. I could only stroke him on the floor by trapping him in a corner, or in his sleeping box. And he would never sleep out in the open unless it was under one of his wooden bridges. Recently, I changed the litter trays under the hay-rack. Instead of correx trays lined with paper and a layer of Megazorb, I started using a piece of Vetbed under the hay-rack. Clyde likes it so much, not only does he lie on the Vetbed out in the open, but will even let me get close enough to stroke him without running away! Is it just co-incidence that this change in behaviour has occurred after I put Vetbed down? Or does Vetbed have strange powers?

Never underestimate the seductive power of a cosy bed for an older piggy! :)

When I switched to vet bed my piggies started sleeping out in the open too. I really think it is the best bedding. Guinea pigs love it. I have a vet bed area for my rabbit too and he sleeps on it.

Cute photo. I have little vet bed mattresses for my 2 and they love them. It must be so comfy. Lol.

He may really like it! We had the opposite happen, I tried to go to fleece and Sundae freaked out so badly that she looked terrified and didn't want to go into the cage at all... she sat there like a deer in headlights so after a day or so I went back to paper bedding. She's very bad with change!
