I hate this weather :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

Its getting darker so much earlier cos the weather has been pants the last couple of days. Didn't get to see my piggies last night as i was working a late, and they were put in the hutch by the time i got home. I just sat there looking folornly at the front of it....i think they'd gone to bed :( :(

Roll on when its time to come indoors :)

Good news for the weekend though, temperatures up to mid 70`s farenheit from Friday :D

Thank goodness
My guineas havent had a proper graze in there run for AGES and we have to settle with putting them on leads in our living room.
I cant wait for the good weather.

Ive had a lovely sunny day - my archie has been out munching on the grass - listening to the birdies 8) :)

It's windy & sunnyish here; we took advantage & all the piggies have been out for a graze  :)

it got windy here in bristol later in the day ! its meant to be lovely on the weekend finger s crossed 88)

I don't mind teh weather myself but the piggies are missing their grass, they can run around in the hallway but it isn't the same :(

Forum piggygram reads:

It is highly crud. Stop.

We, the pigglingtons, are not impressed. Stop.

You, big things, organise the salad. Get on and organise the sunshine. Over.

Didn't know there was such a thin as a piggygram, did you? :D

Oooh unlucky you lot. It got dark a bit earlier than normal but piggies were in garden from 11-7 with no rain....and loving it as well!
:smitten:

LEADS are not suitable for piggies I know they are sold in pet shops but guinea pigs should NEVER be put on a lead ever. For exercise floor time should be free time not tied to a lead. These products should not be sold please bin it and put your piggies on the floor free range or inside the run indoors if the weather is bad out. Also those ball things that are sold should never be used as it will cause a spinal injury.

My three old guinea-pigs all had leads and no harm came to them. They loved going out for a walk/run around the front and back garden on their leads. But, they wouldn't be sold in pet stores if they weren't suitable for them, wouldn't make sense.

It's the same with choker chains for dogs, they can damage a dogs neck, but they are still sold in pet shops, people who know no different buy them, the pet shops will still carry on selling these products because they make money out of them

i don't know wheather any harm can be done, but guineas aren't meant to be on leads so i would never do it and i would think they would at least be uncomfortable, and maybe it could be harmful to them. i wouldn't. :-\

Woah, its ok, everyone! I only used the guinea pig lead once or twice and I still give them plenty of free run around time in the hallway. Now you've said all that, I'm binning the leads. The bad thing is, my next door neighbour doesnt let hers have any free run time unless theyre on a lead. She wont use the run becasue her bunnys sprayed it and the piggies get scared when theyre in it. Its really unfair on them because theyre getting old and they need excercise :( But her mums really house-proud and wont let them run around inside....

Chokers for dogs are only really suppose to be used when training is concerned. A guinea-pig harness is quite different, the ones I had were perfectly fine for them. I never did them up tight, I made sure that I could fit my finger between the harness and their necks/chests, and obviously no one would drag their pet across the garden by a lead, you'd let them go at their own pace with the lead loose enough for it not to pull the guinea-pig back and hurt them.
