First problem:
The pigs keep pulling up their fleece and pooing under it.

Second problem:
The pigs have a cardboard house, they keep moving it around so they have no room to go up and down the ramp.

Third problem:
I have no food left or no hay. I have to get some tomorrow all I have given them is some apple and I don't want to give them much more because of the acid.

If anyone can help with any of these it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

For the first problem... I usually use heavy hideys or bricks in the corners where they can bunch up the fleece. It holds it down so they can't burrow :)

Mine throw around cardboard houses too. I try and wedge them between the inside of the hutch/shed and another object (eg log tunnel or hay tray' that usually works until they've destroyed and entertained it a little.

Hi!

Can you get hold of hay somehow? it makes up to 80% of the daily food intake and it is what is keeping the guts stable. Guinea pigs have a very fast metabolism and need to eat continuously; as their guts are laid out to process nutritionally rather poor fare, they need to eat a lot of it. Just an apple until tomorrow is not enough.

Can you get at least hold of some grass that has not been peed on by dogs and foxes?

As to the cardboard box; cut wide doors into all sides, so it is more like a stool.

Can you peg the fleece down or get some smooth stones that the piggies cannot move for the corners to weigh down the fleece?

PS: You can find more foods they can eat via this thread here, but please try and get hay asap!

Thanks guys. Someone helped me with food and but couldn't give hay because she was running low. I have run out of that food as she only gave a small bag. I will go to the pet shop asap. I may be able to put them out on the grass soon.

I have one more problem:
My guinea pigs are fussy so they can't eat muslie so I have to feed pellets but the only pellets they sell in my local pet shop are pellets with seeds in them. I may be able to go somewhere else but it is a bit of a trip. @Wiebke

As an emergency, get the smallest quantity of low quality pellets for now. Too much fresh food is not good for them. They REALLY need hay. Have you got a horse supplier within your reach that you could source some hay from?

For the medium to longer term I would see whether you can other supplies online. There are a number of companies selling hay, pellets and other pet supplies that will deliver countrywide.

I saw your post earlier but couldn't reply. I decided to make the trip and got some Burgess Excel and some hay. I also am going to get them some fresh brocolli later. Thanks for the reply
