Junior Guinea Pig
Hi
I posted a little while ago about losing our gorgeous girl ( an incredibly affectionate little thing who saved lock down for us). We now have a rather grumpy 6 year old boar all on his own. I would always rather get a rescue pig but we have been known to buy from pet shops before now when under pressure.
Our nearest rescue is a Blue Cross and I have contacted them and got on their list, but, not surprisingly, they only have male pigs at the moment.
After reading Wiebke's really good article about looking after a singleton, we have been giving him lots of attention and having him near us as much as we can.
However, we have noticed that his behaviour is changing. He teeth chattered at my daughter the other day which is very out of character and today he escaped from the out door run. We found him, he was easy to catch and we have secured the spot he escaped from but I am wondering if he was looking for company. Do I give in and buy him a companion from a pet shop ? Any advice gratefully received.
