How much hay are we getting through in a month? I think I saw it a while ago I don’t know if it was on my thread or someone else’s. Sorry. I have 4 piggies and we get through (ahhhm throw away what we have peed on) roughly 15ish kg per month.

Yes it does seem a lot - I think with my 2 piggies I get thru about 2 kgs a week

Mine live outside in sheds so due to that I get through a lot of hay in winter for bedding and a bit less in summer.
I currently have four animals - two piggies and two rabbits (who use a bit more than the piggies do).
I buy farm bales of hay now and get though one around every six weeks.
When I used to buy in boxes from haybox (so I did know the exact weight of what I was buying) was using around 15kg every 4 weeks.

I get through around one bale of Nature’s Own meadow hay a week (4kg) plus I top this up with Timothy hay daily…so probably over 20kg hay a month! I don’t see it as waste though as both my two love burrowing/sleeping in it and it’s enrichment as well as food.

I genuinely don’t know at the moment, but I do know we currently get through more with Herman living here! (He drinks & wees a lot. 😂)

Oh I know it is not waste! But I did not want you to think they were EATING 15 kph of hay a month, they would be the size of a capybara! 🤣

That sounds familiar. I'm getting through about 2/3 less since losing Mr Piddle Pants.
