Hi I bought a huge bag of hay from a recommended site I found on here but I have noticed tiny bugs, like barely visible tiny bugs in it when I put it in the cage. Should I stop using this and will my boys be okay? It is hay from a farm.

Thanks for looking.

It might be worth treating them for mites just in case (xeno is what i'd recommend). They should be fine though, I would personally throw the batch of hay out and get another if your certain it has come from the hay.

x.

There will be bugs in any hay that you get, it's normal. Some hay batches can have a lot in though. If you feel that there are too many bugs, email the supplier and explain the situation.
I get hay by the bale for the hay lofts that I keep in a wheelie bin. The other hay I get online from http://www.timothyhay.co.uk this is the only hay company that I can say has been consistently good.

So there is no need to worry unless the boys seem to be affected (I checked them, no sign of bugs on fur and no scratching) ?

I reckon if you can see the bugs then's there are too many and I'd ditch the batch and look to treat with Xeno 450 as a precautionary measure.
