hello all,
as you know i am zoe's mum and jessies and falines too. anyway due to the drought the hay and straw are becoming more and more dry and dead looking.
:tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: we got a bale of oaten hay today and it has some green bits but is most dry and dead looking. is this safe to feed the girls? i aks as most of you know zoe has had trouble with her poops. well today we started her on a little bit of veggie and tonight she had soft poops again. and we're not sure if it was the cauliflower or the hay. any advice would be appreciated.
really wish zoe could talk and tell me what is troubling her. thanks for reading this post. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Hay shouldnt be wet or wet looking and i personally think the drier the better O0

She may have soft poops cause shes drinking loads maybe ? ? I would just give her her daily food and lots of hay and no veggies for a few more days to see if her poops get any better 0:)
Youll have to be the poop examiner from now on ;D

Good Luck :smitten:

I think it should be fine, it just wont be as nutritional as other hay. Could you maybe buy hay online? That way you can get some good quality stuff? O0

If you are in the UK then you probably have the same problem as me. Local meadow hay is very brown with not much green. In order to make up for it I mix it with some Oxbow Timothy Hay. The difference is amazing! The oxbow is green, very fresh and sweet smelling. My Piggys popcorn for Britain when they smell the Oxbow hay. :)

hello outfoxed98,
i am in australia south australia actually and the straw and hay is so wilted and dead looking to lack of rain. as to the oxbow timothy hay our piggies have never had it but our vet is getting some in. just hope it doesn't upset zoe's tummy further. :'( :'( :'( hugs and cuddles to you and your furbabies. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Hi there choloe. Sorry I am unfamiliar with your piggys story (only just joined!) what tummy problems has Zoe been having? I have found that Oxbow Timothy is one of the most palatable hays that you can get for Piggys and is also very good for the GI tract. If anything it should help :)

If she is having tummy troubles it may be related to diet. What is she being fed currently?
