During floortime, I put some hay in a box with an opening. I was always thinking of ways to keep hay in the pigpen without dirtying the blankets with hay bits. I finally found a way that works! Wish I had thought of it before though...
My piggies prefer cardboard boxes than the igloos or wooden houses we bought them. I even bought them posh beds in the past and all money gone down the drain because cardboard boxes are what keeps them occupied all the time. Change the boxes positions and they think "ooohhh new boxes!" It was a good thing that we used to sell stuffs in ebay and we had plenty of boxes. But a few weeks ago, my piggies managed to destroy all the boxes so hubby bought new ones from ebay.
Spike's favourite bed a the moment is a shoe box filled with hay. Peanut is miffed he's not allowed in so he's eating it from the outside! I have started putting a cut to size piece of puppy pad in the bottom of cardboard boxes, it helps to keep them going longer as the bottom doesn't get soggy. Don't know why I didn't think of this years ago.
