Hi there!

I mainly use Timothy Hay and Orchard Grass for my piggies but as I get them Oxbow and Alfalfa King, and use the Timothy in their litter tray, a lot of hay ends up getting replaced every day when I clean it out and I find I'm wasting quite a bit and I know they really like it :o

Would it be okay to use meadow hay as their main unlimited hay? They'll still have the timothy and orchard more as a in their hay rack, but I've never used meadow and wondering if it will be okay to use in their big trays? ☺

Yes it would be OK to use meadow hay as their " default" hay .

Have you heard of this company by the way ?

About Us | Timothy Hay | Hay Supplies UK - they are based in Stirling . Their hay is a bit coarse so I wouldn't recommend it as bedding - but it is a lovely " treat " hay .

Hi piggyowner, this is the hay my boys are on full time. I'm curious as to why you would call it a treat hay?

:agr: with @PiggyOwner that timothy hay is to coarse to use as bedding hay,it is probably more prone to causing hay pokes to eyes than soft meadow hay.I recently recieved an order of Ings Hay and meadow hay from hay and straw company 2 bags of 9.5 kgs and i have found this to be very good quality hay, very green. My piggies have really eaten lots of this hay.but there favorite is orchard grass hay which i give twice a week in there hay racks.:own:
