Hi everyone! Theo and Clyde are still doing great, I just have a question about hay cubes (and carrot houses)
This is a new problem for me pigs I’ve cared for before would have demolished these in days/weeks, but Theo and Clyde just don’t really seem interested in gnawing them.
Instead they sit in them respectfully which is great, but they do also wee in them - the hay cube in particular I’m worried about because even with me swapping out the hay for fresh clean, it doesn’t take long before it’s used as a bed and it’s soaked again
The bottom has gone white in one area (calcium build up maybe?), and looks like it might have started/will soon start growing mould on it - I’ve removed it and am planning to sand/ scrape off the affected area but does anyone have tips to stop this happening? I’m getting the same issue with one bottom side of the carrot house as well (already scraped off suspicious looking edges once)
Theo is very upset that I’ve just STOLEN his hay cube and is shouting at me because of my betrayal
