Hiya!

So I'm looking for something better than a hay rack in order to use for Holly and Bramble! I've always used a hay rack for them, but I'm actually trying to look for something that means they can't tear out all the hay.

It's usually not a problem as I'm home to replenish it frequently - but working very long shifts at work recently, I'm away from the house for 12 hours most days at this point. The issue is, I stuff the hay racks full for them, along with veggies and the nuggets - but Holly and Bramble have got into a terrible habit of tearing all the hay from the rack onto the floor of their hutch....and then deciding "that's not hay anymore..." and refuse to touch it! I just want to make sure they'll have a constant supply of hay while I'm gone...and hopefully something that will prevent them from doing this! :P

Anyone have any ideas? Tried a Hay Feeder from the Hay Experts but they just tore the entire thing open and hay was everywhere! XD

Oh naughty piggies lol! I have two hay racks that I use and I had the same problem. Mo would tear most of it out...but since getting his little brother Steve he just eats the bits Mo leaves haha

Have you tried a hay rack with smaller holes that the piggies have to pull the hay through? Smaller holes will hopefully reduce the amount of hay waste and lengthen how long it lasts.

IMG_3660.webp I have found the hay bag to be really useful. Lily rummages in it but doesn't seem to waste so much. It holds a lot of hay. I made it but I have seen them to buy online.
Here's a photo.
