Doragon
Teenage Guinea Pig
I came home tonight to possibly the worst scare I’ve ever had.
After Beans had jumped into the hay rack, I decided to switch and get some handmade hay bags from Etsy - I thought, no chance a piggy can get in there.
Oh, I was so very wrong. I walked home from work, no sound from the guinea pigs. Run into the room, look at the hay bag, and see the back end of my newest piggie, Waffle - a 8 week old Rex dandling motionless from the back of the bag. I sprint over and I honestly believed she was dead. One of her back legs was hanging out and she wasn’t responding to my touch. Flipped the bag over and let her out gently, and thank goodness she’s alive and okay. Checked her over, she’s absolutely fine. My heart stopped and I think I’ve aged 20 years!
I’m just wondering what you guys please use for your hay feeder, please? A photo of mine is attached that Waffle managed to get into, and I’m shocked but I suppose a teeny baby piggie when spooked can do that! She’s currently having cuddles with me. Anything that you recommend would be brilliant. I’m sure this is a freak accident, but goodness knows how long she was in there as I was at work. What happened if I didn’t walk in the door at that moment, I dread to think! My heart is still all funny
