I got the 9kg bag of meadow hay and my goodness it's fantastic quality, long strands, lovely rich green colour and it smell's delicious.

I think this is the best bag I've had yet, I alway's order from hay for pet's the quality I found is always very good but this bag is awesome!

I just got a delivery today as well. It seems very good quallity and the piggies love it. First time Ive ordered from them and it was very quick delivery.

i'm not good with weights, what sort of size is it?

Wow, i've been thinking of buying from them, i've only had piggies a month and they've nearly finished the P@H timothy which isn't great but they do love it, Pets is too far so i was looking for a delivery company. I've heard a few good things about it too

Do you have to sign for delivery? I've had problems with that before unfortunately as i'm out most of the day x

Yeah - you do, but I'm sure if you left specific instructions of where you want it left then they would. Email and ask, they are very helpful.

I leave instructions to leave it in places (when I lived in the flat it was in hallway, now it's in covered part of garden!) and the message is always communicated to the delivery driver :)

Ps - it's fab hay!

I'm on my second batch of the timothy hay and it's excellent - lasts me ages too as they only have it in their hay boxes, I think it's super cheap! I had some issues with delivery last time as i was at work every time they delivered but this time I asked for them to leave it with a neighbour and it was fine :)

just ordered some -have always given my pigs timothy hay so maybe this will be a nice change or maybe £15 down the pan....we'll see :{

I spend too much money on my pigsmallethead

I had some Timothy and Rye a couple of months ago and it was awfull. It was more like straw than hay.

:(

I've got 2 x 9.5kg bags of Ings, (Which is very much like 'The Dust free' Soft at the moment) and just ordered a bag of meadow and a bay of Timothy/rye.

I've never had their Timothy Rye, will let you know and poss photos when it arrives.

I ordered the meadow hay today from them. I bought the sample pack, and put three piles out a floor time, and my three dived on the meadow hay. I've never seen them so happy - they popcorned higher than I've ever seen! Had to start ordering from there after that. Was also impressed that the owner called me up this afternoon to discuss delivery details, as I had indicated that I'm out at work during the day.

I used Milo for a comparison shot - This is the largest bag.

I use the Timothy and Rye - never had any problems with it.

I buy the pets at home hay £5.99 bag but I'm thinking of buying off these!
How long does the hay last for? It doesn't smell after a few days does it?
I'm gunna order the sample pack see what the piggie's like :)

I'm quite lucky, I don't have to buy hay. One of my colleagues is friends with a farmer and he gets me a full bale for free. It's 4 foot long, 3 foot wide and 2 foot high. It lasts me for ages and every time it runs out, he gets me another fresh bale for free. My piggies burrow it, sleep on it and eat it. I store it in an old quilt cover in the shed on top of one of the hutches, it keeps it nice and dry. Next doors old 3 legged cat loves it, I catch him asleep on top of it all the time. :))

When everyone orders from Hay for Pets do they use PayPal?
Is it secure if you use a debit card instead?
I'm abit warey of putting card details in on website I ain't ordered from

How long does delivery usually take?
I ordered some when this thread first went up and i've only got up to about mid-week left of hay and i don't want to get P@H again as i found thistles in the bag! (they weren't soft either)

I used to buy the P@H hay and didn't realise how rubbish it was until I bought hay from hay for pets - honestly, P@H hay is such bad quality but until I'd found this hay I had no idea! I order the biggest bag of meadow hay and it lasts me weeks, even with 7 pigs.

I've only paid through paypal but would be happy to use my debit card too with them. xx

Have you had an email from Graham? I've always had an email to confirm that it's been posted, and then after that it usually takes 2-3 days xx

I found them to be extremely efficient-Graham sends a email to confirm and say thank you for the order.
It was lovely hay-I had the £8 bag but it didn't last long with 4 pigs so I thought it was a little expensive.

Thanks everyone for the info!
I have 6 guinea pigs at the mo but getting another one soon
I wouldn't mind paying more money if I know the hay is lush.
I will order off them tomorrow, might try the sample stuff first then see what they like the best :)
