Has anyone tried their meadow hay?

I seem to have fussy guinea's, I bought some Timothy and as usual the girls like it, the two older boars like it, even TK and Tyrion like it but... Storm and Snow seem to be being fussy with it, it was because of them I thought I'd try it in the first place *Sigh* Cesaro did eat it but for some known reason doesn't seem as interested now

I wanted something organic really.

So if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to post them. I'm not able to buy oxbow because it ends up costing a lot.

I have been using Hay for Pets INGS hay for a while now, and they most eat is just fine. It's a nice hay. I have tried the meadow hay from there and they weren't too enamoured with it. There are a couple of nice looking hay on zooplus that you can buy in large quantities, I'm tempted to try one out this time.

Yeah, we always had INGS but then I noticed Storm and Snow putting on weight, I then figured it's because they eat more pellets rather than hay, so I've had to cut them down on pellets, we then tried them on ASDA meadow hay because we ran out of INGS due to me trying to figure what hay to get, they all ate that, even Storm and Snow and they ate less pellets... so I thought I would try the Timothy hay from timothyhay.co.uk now they are doing the same as before but only Cesaro seems a bit fussy with it as well.

So I'm sat here like... what should I do, because all but Storm and Snow really like the INGS however I also noticed the INGS has a lot of small bits that the guinea's don't seem bothered with, plus sticks and dust. They all like the ASDA meadow hay, and all but three like the Timothy rofl...

crikey ! Nightmare .... I am still using the pets at home hay, along with a bit of that timothy hay ( the nice green one from pets at home ) and also the B&M meadow hay ... there is always some hay left, they don't ever eat it all, should i be worried ? They are still young and i give them about 3 handfuls twice a day and they have pellets and their veg... they always eat the green timothy hay in full....

Oh I think they like the Timothy then lol

Have you thought about buying in bulk?

If you even do, you can get samples from hay for pets so you can see if your guinea's like it before buying the big bags.

seems so lol ! I will have a look when they have made a dent on the stuff i have got... Will defo ask for samples.. x

well i put a large bit of hay into my wash bag earlier, ( got another one for washing for free as first one broke a bit ) mixed my pets at home hay and my B&M meadow hay... it was very tricky and i ended up covered in the stuff ! Then got the hoover out, forgot to wash my hands, rubbed my face and hands... spent ages sneezing and wanting to rip my eyes out ! note to self - WASH YOUR HANDS !

It does it to me as well :( This Timothy hay really had flared it up, the Ings wasn't so bad, but this! I'm not even sure about it, is it meant to be course?

I have rhinitis so a lot of airborne stuff starts mine off! Mainly pollen/hay etc.

I use hay from my local pet shop, I presume it's from a local farmer, will ask next time. The thing I like about it is that it is not all chopped up and compressed, so they can properly play in it.

That's where I bought my last Timothy from.. is it meant to be course (or however you spell it) @Dindypig ? It's a bit harsh on my allergies as well lol.

@Kerrie74 All timothy hay is coarse compared to the softer meadow type hays but the pigs love it. I also buy hay by the bale from a farm to use in the pigs hay lofts.
I take antihistamine to counter my allergies to all hays.
