Haha mine too! My mum rocks! Whenever we go out together she's always like 'do the pigs or the pups need any treats?'

timothyhay.co.uk

I just called http://www.dustfreehay.co.uk/ and asked how heavy their large bales were, she didn't seem 100% sure but said they were around 8kg, so I'm considering that and she said to go with the stalky as it has a better feed value.

The stalky is very stalky almost like straw. I would avoid like the plague ours hated it....

Unsure on the feed value thing, the soft hay is the same type of hay that we can buy locally so we stick with it.

Maybe worth ordering boxes of each and seeing which goes down the best

That's it. I'm going back to hay for pets even though it means having a wardrobe full of it haha.. No other hay is the same :(
I got a bag of the Timothy and marigold from b&m and they're having that as their main hay at the minute because they're not touching this other hay I got from pet supermarket :/ argghhhh hay is giving me nightmares lol

Haha just caught up on this thread...v confusing...but think I'm going to get the Ings hay from hayforpets too. I had the same problem as you Kerrie finding the timothyhay.co.uk set off my allergies sooo bad, I sold it to a friend with rabbits in the end. Let me know if you do try the dustfree hay as it looks really good quality on the website!

Ok @HansPiggies I will.

I suffer with rhinitis and I'm on a nasal spray daily and also have antihistamines when needed (Dr prescribed) if it gets too bad I choke in my sleep and my son has to help me if it's too bad. My dog has also been known to jump on me when I do it, it hurts, but it helps lol. So I have to be very very careful about hay and such. I have many different health problems that seem to be linked to Fibro. The Ings does flare mine up BUT it's no where near as bad as the Timothy hay. Dust, pollen, fur etc. are all culprits, thinking about getting an air purifier.
