Just a quickie - I want to start buying small bales of bedding hay from a farm.

Do I ring any farm in the yellow pages?

How does it work?

Thanks!

You probably are best rining, as many farms don't harvest in the small bales like they used to do. Do you have a stables or Farm and pet store near you where you could ask about someone local?

Good luck hun.

Just google hay and your area, you should come up with some good results! Horse forums and the like are also good, that way you'll get an idea about the hay before you buy too!

I've tried google and i'm not getting any luck!

I go through so much with my 10 and I give them lots to play in too. I could really do with a big amount for bedding and playing.

Going to ring some farms later today

Thanks!

I get my bedding hay from a farm and the quality is excellent with no twigs or thorns in it and it smells sweet too. I paid £4 for a small bale and its lasting me ages with my two.

I got it from a farm down Pembroke, but there is another farm that does good quality hay in Caerphilly they sell all sorts in the farm shop.
Here are some details if you ever fancy popping to them.

Beech Farm Penrhos
Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan CF83 1NF

:)

Try ringing a local horse livery yard or riding stables - check first if its good hay.

They may either sell you a bale regularly or put you in touch with their supplier.

Alternatively try a farm shop or somewhere selling organic home grown veg. They may be able to put you in touch with someone.

It's by far the easiest way to purchase hay but you need to check each bale is good quality and stored in a dry place. Expect to pay from £1.50 to £6 per bale.
