So my boys have been on Dust Free Hay for practically their whole lives and I've always been happy with it. But the last batch I got was bellow par and had lots of bits and buttercups and things in it which I didn't like. I gave them another chance, thinking it was a one off, but this latest batch is even worse and to top it all it is so dusty my mum's allergies are playing up and it gave my little brother's friend an asthma attack. So not good at all.

What hay do you use and rough how much does it cost? I don't have much storage space so all we could manage are 5 of the 2kg bales from Dust Free so really I need something similar. My local farm only does straw and I don't really like much of the Pets at Home or Jolleyes hay either.

My mum lets me order the hay online (it's the only thing she lets me get online!) so links and good reviews from you guys would really help

Thanks

Back in March, I started buying Kimberley Hay, which is grown in the Cotswolds. I can buy it from a pet feeds store locally, but I don't know whether it is sold in other parts of the country. It think it is possible to buy it online. It's really beautiful hay, long-stranded, plenty of green, sweet-smelling, and virtually no dust. Since I started using it, the piggies' skin has been in much better condition, and they absolutely love it.

I had previously been buying hay from Zooplus, but the quality got so bad, and it was full of dust, so I gave up with that. However, I've never had a disappointing bag of the Kimberley hay - it comes in paper sacks that are a decent size (roughly, they're 2ft in length, about 13 inches in width, and 8 inches deep), and costs just under £4 a bag from where I buy it, but obviously would be more if you've got carriage costs. The bags aren't those compressed ones, so the hay comes out easily. I'm not sure how much they weigh. I don't know how to do links, but it's from Kimberley Pet Supplies which are based in Hardwicke, Glos.

Thank you, that's perfect. It has to be a dust free hay because so many people in my family have allergies so that is a big plus. I'll have a little search and see it there is a local supplier for me

I really like Hay for Pets! I use the Ingle one and the smell makes me want to eat it myself, lolol. No issues with dust until I get to bottom of bag, where there is a bit.

I've just ordered from Hay for Pets so hopefully the piggies like it! Was sick of paying £4.00+ for 1kg of hay and that's not including travel.

I use Hay For Pets Meadow hay for my piggies' bedding as its so soft and smells lovely.

Going to try Hay For Pets when i get paid...quick question, dose anyone know how big the bales are as i am wondering how i can store it? Also is it in boxes/bag again for storage purpose.

Have a look at the reply I put on this thread earlier - the top link is a thread I started the other day - it will show you the size of bag.

How long does it normally take for the order to arrive? I guess it will take a bit longer for me being further north but it would be nice to get a general idea :)

This has given me lots to think about. Will speak to my Mum this evening and pick which one to go for!
