Hello everyone :)

What hay does your piggies prefer? Mine like the Burgess dandilion and something one but they prefer the Oxbow Timothy hay which is expensive but quite green.

Also do you use any packs of different leaves/foraging greens/flowers or plants which can be purchased in shops for variety? I bought a dandilion mix from Wilkos the other day and my girls are unsure if they like it or not.

Mine have the hay from B&M, the large bag of plain and the small bags with flowers in, great value and mine love it.

They also love B&M hay cakes.

I don't personally use the dry forage but I do go picking dandelions from the lanes around here.

Il have to try the B&M hay next time.

I have packs of Timothy and orchard from Wilko's to try after they have eaten the P&H and the Burgess one.

oxbow timothy hay and orchard grass hay as treat, and meadow hay from farm bale in piles in cages/hutches.

I started mine on B&M Timothy Hay with Dandelion & Herbs because it's only £1.99/kg but I had to change for a month to the P@H Timothy Hay.
The P@H stuff is terrible. The storks of hay are way too short so it all just falls through the hay rack. I've changed back to B&M's hay because it's so much longer and it has the added herbs which I think the pigs enjoy.

We give local meadow hay to ours which theyre quite keen on, theyve never been big fans of timothy hay but we get the bag with 5 herbs and flowers, cant remember what is actually in it but they get through that quite quickly, sometimes we buy small bags of dandelion and camomile hay too which they enjoy. At the moment though theyre working their way through a bag of the oat readigrass stuff which they love, ive never seen them eat anything so fast! Readigrass is great for Bramble too as she can be quite picky and has allergies so finding hay for her can be tricky. She is often found under a large pile of the redigrass though.

Nateee88 I find the P@H hay very stalky, although my girls do eat it. The small handful of Oxbow hay they adore (given as a treat).

I find all of the hays very confusing. I thought Timothy was good due to lower calcium. That's why I give it. What hay is the best?

Alfalfa King Timothy Hay from P@H is amazingly green and it smells tasty even to me, safe to say my guys love it! It always goes down well, but it is pricey at £9 for a bag. That said, that's their feeder hay among with Oxbow Orchard Grass and Readigrass. Their main hay is Hay for Pets Ings Hay, which is lovely and they boys love it, amazing value for money too.

Mine have the B&M Timothy Hay with marigold and dandelions.. not just because it is cheap at £1.99 but they love it.. I sometimes use the B&M Meadow hay in the bottom of their tray too as another layer but they prefer the other hay.. I have not really tried any other apart from the P@H Timothy hay used as a treat as its expensive

Mine aren't keen on Timothy hay, they much prefer meadow hay from our local farm shop. They do like Oxbow orchard hay, but it's expensive so only get a handful on top of their meadow hay.

All 8 of my boys hate Timothy hay so they have ING hay and meadow hay from hay and straw they all adore these and it's by far the best hay I've come across! They also have the Timothy hay from b&m the dandelion and marigold one which they like :D

Can I ask what is Ing hay?Ive had a look on hay and straw.co.uk and it's great value if you buy in bulk but I've never heard of it so don't know whether my pigs would like it.

True Gem789. I discovered today that my girls really don't like cucumber.

At ALL! They simply drop the pieces i give them and leave it on the Fitch bedding. Thankfully I love cucumber and it's not expensive to buy.

I'd hate to buy something like Bunny and find that they don't like it.

Ing hay? Never heard of it...but a week ago I never really thought that I would develop an interest in hay. IV got 3 different bags open with two sealed and I'm still looking around for different ones. I might try the Alfalfa one from P@H at £9 a bag, but it does look green and nice.

ING hay is lovely it's not stalky and nice and green all of my boys go crazy for it, this is what the website says -

"Our speciality top quality ‘Ings’ hay which comes from traditionally managed water meadows. These meadows have no chemical fertilizer or sprays applied. They gain their fertility from regular deposits of silt when the meadows flood and subsequently this organically grown hay is awash with an amazing variety of flowers and grasses and smells natural and sweet."

Delivery is also fantastic on the big bags if you order by 12 then you get it next day! I've just introduced @Laura mason and her piggies to the joys of ING hay too :D
I also buy their meadow hay that always gets eaten too! Here are a couple of pics so you can see it.
